The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM), the industry’s leading certification organization, is looking for an experienced detail oriented, customer focused, and results driven individual to develop and manage professional certification programs and assist individuals in attaining and maintaining their credentials.
The Director of Certification assists the Executive Director in achieving the Institute’s goals and objectives, and is directly responsible for: Overseeing all certification program functions in a manner that achieves and maintains relevant accreditations; Providing advice on certification program features, needs, and other issues that contribute to the short and long term success of the Institute; and, Fulfilling all relevant duties in accordance with the policies of Institute and the procedural requirements as stipulated in the IHMM Management System Manual. Specific duties and responsibilities include: • Manage subject matter experts (SMEs) and psychometric consultants to conduct job/task analysis and cut-score studies, and develop exam blueprints and recertification standards. • Certification examination development, delivery, item analysis, and security. • Approve exam and recertification applications for eligibility based on sufficient and relevant education and experience. • Represent the Institute at various certification forums, conferences, workshops, and meetings. Minimum BA/BS; Graduate degree preferred. Experience with testing or certification management required. Good critical thinking and analytical skills, good computer skills, good interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and must be willing to travel occasionally for meetings. |
